Scottish World Tartan Register No. 3179
The Finnish tartan has been designed and woven as a gift to the people of Finland. The colours of the tartan combine the colours in the flags of
Finland and Scotland.

The Finnish tartan was launched on Finland’s National Day at the annual Scottish-Finnish Society dinner on 6th December 2006.

Tartan Facts & Snippets

The original dress of the Highlander was the Celtic Feile-breacan (belted plaid). This was a piece of tartan cloth, two yards broad and four long, which was drawn round the waist in nicely adjusted folds, and tightly buckled with a belt.
