The leading role which the County has played in shaping the history of Scotland, and have been woven together to produce a unique and distinctive design. The green represents the predominantly rural landscape of the south and east of the county, the bright yellow depicting the famous stone, mined in Giffnock and used to build the tenements of Glasgow. The blue represents the Firth of Clyde and pale blue its tradition in shipbuilding, and the trade routes across the Atlantic. The black represents the ironstone mined to fuel the industrial revolution across Scotland.  For use by anyone from or associated with the County of Renfrewshire with International Tartans explicit consent.
