To order this Tartan please get in touch.

Co-designed and launched by Provost Elizabeth Foulkes in 1998 and for use by anyone from or associated with the County of Ayrshire with International Tartans consent. The tartan was designed around some of the history and heritage or the region with the green representing the predominantly rural landscape of the east and south, and gold the rich farmland which makes the name of Ayrshire synonymous with agriculture. The blue represents the Irish Sea which forms its western boundary and the black depicting the rich coal seams which fuelled its many industries over centuries. The pale blue represents the two districts of Kyle and Cunninghame, and purple the third district of Carrick, birthplace.
